Our range of ready made eyelet curtains, are available in two sizes;
- 1350mm wide x 2200mm drop
- 1650mm wide x 2200mm drop
The widths above refer to the overall size if the fabric was laid flat. When curtains are hung, they need to be gathered, a general guide is to multiply the window width by 1.5 as this will add width to the fabric and allow the curtain to hang correctly.
Based on achieving a medium amount of gathering, the below detail is a guide to assist in your selection.
- 1350mm width curtain comfortably covers a 900mm wide area
- 1650mm width curtain comfortably covers a 100mm wide area
The gathering amount of a curtain is an individual choice, with the above information to be used as a guide only. Eyelet curtains are often used as side or highlight drapes over blinds, in which case, both sizes will generally be suitable.
Width
If using an existing curtain rod to hang the eyelet curtains from, measure the width of the rod excluding the end caps/finials. This will be the useable part of the rod.
If you need to order a curtain rod to use with the eyelet curtains, it is suggested that you measure 100mm past each side of the window to offer maximum privacy and allow for the curtain to be pulled past the window when open.
Drop
Our range of ready made curtains come with a simple ‘do it yourself’ iron on hemming tape that allows you to alter the drop to suit the selected opening. Generally curtains are to hang 10-15mm above the floor to allow for better hanging.
The curtain rod is generally installed approximately 70mm above the architrave to offer better light control.
The curtain will sit approximately 30mm above the rod.
